Why Change Network Settings
A CCA must be connected to the Internet in order to transfer data to the Tigo cloud. Without this connection, the performance of the system will not be viewable.
The CCA's network settings may require adjustment or reconnection, if:
- ISP (Internet Service Provider) has changed
- Network Security has changed (firewalls, passwords, hidden SSID, etc)
- Router, Modem or Network Extension Device has been replaced
The steps to change the network settings on a CCA can only be done from the Tigo Energy Intelligence (EI) App loaded on your device (phone/tablet).
CCA Overview
The Tigo CCA is the third generation of the data logger. Its modern design has no physical interface (buttons, screen, etc), so changes are made using the Tigo Energy Intelligence (EI) App on a phone/tablet. It requires the user to be in close proximity to the CCA with a phone/tablet that is connected via Bluetooth.
Change Network Settings
In order to change any aspect of the Network Settings, the CCA must be connected to the phone/table using the Tigo Energy Intelligence (EI) App. For complete instructions, see: Connect Device (phone/tablet) to CCA.
Once connected to the CCA, use the steps (below) to "steer" or control the CCA, in finding and confirming the new network. This can be any local WiFi connection (including: Routers, MiFi, and smartphone Hot Spots), or a simple Ethernet cable connection.
To do this:
- Sign into the Tigo EI App, and select system on the Installations page
- Choose Edit (bottom)
- Choose Configure Communication
- Select Internet Settings
- Pull Down to scan for networks
- App scans for networks
- Choose the desired network from list
- Enter Password for the new network and press CONNECT (right)
- Checkmark appears next to network, press DONE (bottom)
Confirm Network
It is strongly recommended to confirm the CCA's connection to the network is successful by Running a Network Test.
Although the local network and associated services are not provided by Tigo, we may be able to assist. If you get stuck, Contact Tigo Support.
