This article explains the use and meaning of the PV-Module (panel) colors found in the EI App and Portal.
Display Modes
The EI Portal System View shows all of the PV-Modules in the system layout. In order to better understand the data (represented by colors), it is important to know which Display Mode you are in. The Modes are selectable within the tool pallet (on the right). The display mode that is Dark Green represents the one that you are currently viewing.
The different Display Modes and what they mean:
Total accumulated daily Energy (up until now) Real-time (or minute-level) Power production Estimate of Power gains, from Tigo Optimization Incoming Voltage, from PV-Module to Tigo MLPE Current or Intensity |
PV-Module Colors in Each Display Mode
The colors and numbers display data that is based on the performance of the PV-Module(s). The range of that performance is based on the information (brand / model specs) that the installer entered into the equipment list when the system was first being created.
The Display Mode you are in has a Primary Color Pallet that represent it's specific data.
Below are examples of the color spectrums that you will see:

Display Modes: Energy / Power / Reclaimed Power
GREEN = High Wattage The brighter, the better! In this example, module is in direct sun and producing 182 Watts. |
BLACK = Low or No Wattage Indicates total darkness (no sun), |
DARK GREEN = Mid-Low Wattage Indicates a shade event, PV-Module resistance, or MPPT setting issue |
GREY = No communication MLPE unit not communicating |
Display Mode: Voltage
ORANGE = Full Voltage Indicates full voltage is being produced by the PV-Module |
BROWN = Low Voltage production MLPE Units receive operational power from the PV-Module. If voltage falls below 13V, the unit will turn Grey (not Black). |
DARK ORANGE = Lowered Voltage Indicates a hard-shade event, or blown panel diode (if consistently less throughout the day) |
GREY = No communication MLPE unit is not receiving enough voltage to remain powered-on, or it is not able to communicate |
Display Mode: Current
RED = Full Current (Imp) The brighter Red, the better! |
BLACK = Low or no Current Indicates extreme shade, wiring issue or no load being placed from inverter |
CRIMSON = Lower Current Indicates a hard-shade event, or a possible resistance issue within the panel or connectors |
GREY = No communication MLPE unit not communicating Indicates incorrect serial number, local interference or distance issue |

Model Indicator Bar If there are Tigo TS4 units on the system, you will see color-coded bars at the base of the PV-Modules (in all Display Modes). The color indicates which model of TS4 MLPE is deployed on that Module. Legacy models (manufactured prior to the TS4 family) do not have this display capability. There are no color-coded bars represented for legacy products.
