This article explains the use and meaning of the PV module (a.k.a. "panel") colors found in the EI App and Portal.
Important:
Module colors provide a visual indication of system performance and can help identify potential issues. A color alone does not confirm a fault and should be considered along with system conditions, time of day, weather, and other troubleshooting information.
Display Modes
The System View in the EI Portal uses colors to show the status of each solar module. The meaning of each color depends on the selected Display Mode.
Use the Display Mode selector in the toolbar to choose the information you want to view. The currently selected mode is highlighted in dark green.
The sections below explain what each module color means for every Display Mode.
What Module Colors Mean in Each Display Mode
The color of each module reflects its performance in the selected Display Mode. The expected performance range is based on the module information entered by your installer during system setup.
Each Display Mode uses a different color scale to represent module performance.
The examples below show what the colors mean in each Display Mode.

BRIGHT GREEN = High Wattage The module is producing at a high level compared to the rest of the system. In this example, the module is in direct sunlight and producing 182 Watts. |
BLACK = Low or No Wattage The module is producing little or no power. This is normal at night. During the day, it may indicate a wiring or system issue. |

DARK GREEN = Mid-Low Wattage The module is producing less power than nearby modules. Temporary shading is common, but persistent differences may indicate a system issue. |
GREY = Monitoring Data Unavailable The system is not receiving data from this module. Gray has the same meaning in every Display Mode. See "If a Module Is Gray" below. |

If a Module Is GrayA gray module indicates that the EI Portal is not receiving monitoring data for that module. Common causes include:
A gray module can appear in multiple Display Modes and has the same meaning in each mode. For detailed troubleshooting instructions, see Discovery Troubleshooting and Replacing a TS4 Optimizer.

ORANGE = Normal Module Voltage The module is operating within its expected voltage range. |
BROWN = Low Voltage production The module voltage is lower than expected. This may occur during low sunlight conditions or if there is a problem affecting the module. |

DARK ORANGE = Reduced Module Voltage The module voltage is lower than nearby modules. Temporary shading is common. If the module remains dark orange throughout the day, the system should be inspected by your installer. |
GREY = Monitoring Data Unavailable The system is not receiving monitoring data for this module. See section: "If a Module Appears Gray." |

Current Display Mode shows the electrical current flowing from each module. Current is often useful for identifying shading or connection issues.

Identify Installed Tigo DevicesFor each fully commissioned monitored Tigo TS4 device, a colored bar appears at the bottom of each module in the System View. The bar identifies the type of Tigo device installed on that module. The bar appears in every Display Mode and does not indicate module performance.
