Symptoms:
The following message is reported:
Error Code IE005 – Over PV Voltage High
Cause:
A PV array string voltage has exceeded the engineering safe limit of:
Single Phase = 600VDC
Three Phase = 1000VDC
This high out-of-spec DC voltage reading is the direct result of an improper array design. There are too many modules per string.
Resolution:
Perform the following steps:
Step 1. Turn off the inverter in the following order:
1. Keep the ENTER button pressed until the display shows this message |
|
2. Push one time the arrow button up or down to select “NO” |
|
3. Wait until the contactor “CLACK” sound inside the EI Link, then check that the display of the inverter is OFF. |
|
4. Turn OFF the DC switch |
|
5. Turn OFF the external AC switch. |
Step 2. Use a multimeter to measure all PV inputs on the PV terminals.
WARNING: These checks must be made on live components and therefore present an electrical safety hazard.
The installer must follow the electrical and safety standard of the country.
Single Phase: Check positive to negative on MPPT 1, 2.
- Do any of the PV measurements exceed 600VDC?
NO – It is necessary to verify on Tigo web page how often the VDC exceeds 600 (VDC).
YES – Check the Voc (Voltage Open Circuit) parameter into the datasheet of the PV model used and moltiply this value for how many panel are present on the string, if the result exceed 600 (VDC), must be review the design.
Three Phase: Check positive to negative on MPPT 1, 2.
- Do any of the PV measurements exceed 1000VDC?
NO - It is necessary to verify on Tigo web page how often the VDC exceeds 1000 (VDC).
YES - Check the Voc (Voltage Open Circuit) parameter into the datasheet of the PV model used and moltiply this value for how many panel are present on the string, if the result exceed 1000 (VDC), must be review the design.
Step 3. Turn ON the system in the following reverse order (refer to the image in Step 1):
- Turn on the DC switch.
- Turn on the AC switch.
- Keep the ENTER button pressed until the display shows the message (shown Step1).
- Push one time the arrow button up or down for select "YES".
- Wait until “CLACK” sound of the contactor inside the EI Link, then check if the display of the inverter is ON.
Step 4. Escalate to Level 2.
