This article explains installing the Tigo Rapid Shutdown (RSD) push button included with the EI Inverter.

Note:
This button must be used with the EI Inverter for NEC article 690.12 rapid shutdown compliance. It simultaneously forces the EI Inverter and TS4s into rapid shutdown, turns off the EI Battery, and stops a generator connected to the EI 200A Automatic Transfer Switch with Generator Support.
This button complies with option 3 of the NEC 690.12(C) requirements for rapid shutdown initiators:
For a single PV system, the rapid shutdown initiation shall occur by the operation of any single initiation device. Devices shall consist of at least one or more of the following:
(1) Service disconnecting means
(2) PV system disconnecting means
(3) Readily accessible switch that plainly indicates whether it is in the "off" or "on" position
Installation
Step 1 Open the cover of the RSD button by unscrewing the 4 retaining screws.

Step 2 Remove the EI Inverter bottom cover to access the wiring area.

Step 3 Remove these two connectors to gain easier access to the rapid shutdown button 3-pin connector. |

Remove wire jumper |
Step 5
Connect one terminal of the RSD button to pin 1 of the RSD connector.
Connect the other terminal of the RSD bottom to pin 3.
Step 6
- Reinstall the wired RSD connector into the EI Inverter.
- Reinstall the two connectors removed in step 3.
Rapid shutdown button installation is complete!
