Internet access is required for Cloud Connect to upload data collected from the Tigo TS4s to the Cloud servers. This is how your account's System View receives its updates.
Network changes (like replacing a Wi-Fi router or changing your ISP) may affect your network-connected devices. This article shows you how to reconnect to a network.
Configure WiFi - Manual Method
The WiFi network can be changed from the Cloud Connect control panel.
The buttons on Cloud Connect have a half-second delay before they are 'recognized' as being pushed.
- Press the MENU button
Screen shows:
- Press the ENTER button to accept
Press the Down Arrow button until the display shows 3. Network
- Press the ENTER button to accept
- Press the Down Arrow until the display shows 3.3 Configure
- Press the ENTER button to accept
- Press the Down Arrow until 3.3.2. Wireless is displayed
- Press the ENTER button to accept (menu displays Are you sure? N=Menu Y=Enter)
Press the ENTER button to Confirm that you want to configure the Wi-Fi
- The Cloud Connect now displays Scanning Wi-Fi networks... (this can take a minute or longer)
When the scan has been completed, local Wi-Fi network names will appear.
- Press the Up or Down arrow(s) to find the correct network
Note: Captured Access Points (ones that ask for you to agree to terms of usage before connecting you to the Internet) are not supported.
- Press the ENTER button to confirm network and display the Wi-Fi router
The display will prompt: Need a user name?
Typically, residential networks do not have a user name.
Press the MENU button to choose No.
- On the Password screen, use the Up and Down arrows to the password.
- Press ENTER button to confirm, and advance to the next character in the password.
- After entering the password, Hold the ENTER button until the "Automatic IP?" text appears.
This asks if the IP address will be determined automatically or manually entered. Most residential networks have automatic IPs. If so, choose Y (for yes) by pressing the ENTER button.
Note for Manual IP: If using a fixed IP address, confirm the correct value with your network administrator - otherwise you can cause network issues with other connected devices.
- After you press the ENTER button, "Save settings?" appears.
Press the ENTER button again to save your Network Settings.
These settings are stored in non-volatile memory in case of power loss.
-
** Activating ** Starting network displays.
Once the wireless connection with the Wi-Fi router/access point is established, you will see Success. This confirms that the password is valid for the network name. Additional text will be displayed as the new Internet access and signal are tested.
Note: If network access becomes unavailable, Cloud Connect will continue to store and save production data from your system until it runs out of available memory/storage space. If that occurs, the oldest data may be overwritten. This will result in Days, Months, or Hours of missing data that will appear as a full system of Gray module icons (instead of the usual dynamic Module Colors). Overwritten or missing data of this type cannot be retrieved.
Configure WiFi - App Method
The Tigo EI App can be used to change network settings on the Cloud Connect.
First, visit our page on: How do I connect my phone to the Cloud Connect (CC)?
Once you have connected the EI App to the Cloud Connect, the address will show in a purple banner(at the top). You may choose any of the options (on the screen) to proceed.
- Tap CCA Configuration
- Select Wi-Fi (top left) and Pull down to scan for networks
- Select the desired Network
- When prompted, enter the password for Network and tap CONNECT
Note: Connecting to the Network may take up to 5 minutes. The device must stay within 15 feet of the Cloud Connect for the duration of the connection.
