Design for Shade Conditions 

Traditionally shade is avoided when designing a solar array because shaded modules bring down the productivity of all other modules in an array.  However, Tigo's Smart Modules are able to mitigate mismatch caused by shadowing by enabling each module to produce its maximum available power regardless of other modules’ ability.  This significantly increases design flexibility since designers are able to place modules closer to obstacles they would typically avoid. Furthermore, Tigo optimizers enable modules that are always shaded to produce whatever power available from indirect sunlight.


Design Uneven Strings Across Multiple Orientations

Tigo's Smart Module technology also corrects for mismatch resulting from uneven strings.  By enabling a variance of up to 25% in string length, system designers are afforded much more flexibility.  The Tigo technology also enables uneven strings to be designed across multiple orientations, affording even more flexibility to system designers.  



Mixing and Matching Different PV Modules

Tigo's Smart Module technology enables system designers to mix different panel types within the same array.
