ts4-A-2f
I have installed 15 solar panels of 435 Watts an 79.6 volts, in strings of 5 each. That is the configuration that the Schneider MPPT100A 600VDC can work with this solar panels. Once I decided the strings, I purchased the Tigo TS4-A-2F and the TSA4-A-F, to be able to cover strings of five ( 2 TSA-A-2F and 1 TS4-f). During installation I check each panel voltage (averaged 79.6 volts) but once I installed the 2 TS4-A-2F in series with the TS4-A-F at the end, the voltage increased tremendously. I was expecting 398 but my multimeter read 1178 voltage??????? I double checked my work but nothing changed. IF that is true reading, my MPPT will not be able to handle it???? What did I missed? I have view your videos and taken your course and I can not find an answer. Thanks

Hi Luis. Are you measuring the string voltage with the strings connected to the charge controller? Are you using the Schneider MPPT Disconnect RS? With a string of five PV modules, and three TS4s (2 x TS4-A-2F + 1 x TS4-A-F) and nothing else connected, you should get about 1.8V on your meter. Each TS4 will have 0.6V in the shutdown state. If you connect the strings to the Schneider MPPT Disconnect RS (or a Tigo RSS Transmitter) and the charge controller, you should get full voltage, something close to Voc. If you are seeing 1178 volts, there is something wrong. Check your wiring. You might also try metering the outputs of each TS4, they should be about 0.6V each when disconnected from the string.

Hello Luis,
Thank you for reaching out for clarification. Considering your string lengths, each string should have a maximum voltage output of (modules in string * Voc) 389 volts. The TS4-A-2F and TS4-A-do not increase the voltage output of your strings and considering your voltage measurement is very close to the voltage output we would expect from a string of 15 modules in series (1194 volts), our advice would be to triple-check your wiring as it seems these three strings are in series.
I hope I answered all your questions, but please let me know or give us a call if any additional information or assistance would be helpful.

Hi I stand corrected, is not 1178 or 1830, it is 1.830 (I took a picture) at the end of the 5 strings which corelated to 2 TS4-A-2F and one TS4-F. I forgot that the TS4 are on the off position until power on. I was concern to not exceeding the MPPT 100A 600V from the strings. So I can check the string voc at the MPPT Disconnect?

Hi Luis, yes 1.8V sounds much better! Yes, you can check the string Voc at the MPPT Disconnect RS terminals with the string disconnected from the charge controller. You need DC loop continuity before the RSS Signal will be seen by the TS4s and then you will get full power. So, the strings have to be connected to the MPPT Disconnect RS *and* the charge controller, and everything needs to be powered up. Let us know what you see.
