SMA Sunny Tripower with Tigo TAP
-
Hi Auke,
Are you using the SMA Rooftop Communications Kit? That is a plug-in board that goes inside the SMA inverter and takes the place of our Cloud Connect Advanced (CCA). SMA discontinued that product some years ago. You will need to contact SMA for support if this is what you intend to use. Just bear in mind the fact that it is obsolete. If you want improved functionality and good support going forward, it would be better to remove/disable it and use our CCA.

Hi Gary, thank you for your reply. I am not using the rooftop communicator. I purchased a new SMA Sunny Tripower 8.0 with build in cca (according to my supplier this should work seamlessly together with the TAP.

Hi Auke,
Do you mean RSS Transmitter? Which TS4 are you using? See below. This is from our "Solutions > TS4 Flex MLPE" web page. SMA does build in an RSS Transmitter to all of their "-41" inverters. That's designed to work with our Fire Safety products (TS4-A-F, TS4-A-2F).

I am using TA4-A Optimizers. I translated the text that is added as info about the connector which connect the TAP with the RS-485 port on the SMA:
“This plug for connection SMA with built-in CCA – Tigo TAP is used to connect the Tigo Access Point to the SMA inverter with built-in Cloud Connect Advanced.”

Can you please send email to "se@tigoenergy.com" with details of your equipment? Also if you can tell us your country, that would help us help you.
