    Thermal imaging, particularly using drone technology, has become a very popular method of preventative maintenance for larger solar arrays, although residential installers committed to quality workmanship and system maintenance will also use the technology. While great at detecting hotspots that can indicate a wide range of issues - loose connections, array fouling, damaged modules, etc., module level monitoring offers a far deeper look into array health.
