    Tigo can provide software updates (for systems with CCA & TAP only), if there is a specific issue where a software package can help. In most cases, the issue is usually hidden in the system's design or some other local phenomenon (like shading, ambient temperature, etc). 

    In either case, you can always Contact Support and ask for one of Tigo's highly-trained Engineers to review your system. They may be able to get your system back on the road to peak performance.

    Just to be sure, Tigo is able to provide software update for the optimizer product TS4-A-O?

    If I'll buy the CCA and TAP, can I do the firmware by myself?

    Allow me to be very clear about this topic:

    Updates are performed remotely by one of Tigo's trained Engineers (only), on a case-by-case basis (no updates can be administered by the customer).

        You may ask: "Why is it this way?"
        The reason is: The updates mentioned are specialized for unique conditions.

    In most scenarios, the existing pre-packaged software remains the best possible optimization solution, but the system may be experiencing other issues entirely. Identifying the actual cause can be a unique challenge. For this reason, an Engineer must review the system and choose from a library of specific updates that are geared towards improving production under peculiar conditions.

    Once an update has been installed, the system must be reviewed again (by the same Engineer), to confirm that the software update worked as expected. For this reason, it is imperative that the system receive a high-level of attention to confirm that there is an issue, and decide upon which conditional update will resolve it.

    The best part about purchasing a Tigo CCA and TAP is: After the system is Discovered, you will be able to clearly see the production output of each MLPE on your system, so you can easily identify if there is a specific condition happening at one your PV module locations. You'll be able to see if the condition happens all the time, or just during certain hours of the day. This level of daily monitoring can be very helpful when tracking down any anomalies or issues.

    How do you know the TS4 "doesn't provide the performance it is able to perform"? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

    That is a great question!

    Since Amit Avraham is also discussing the purchase of a CCA & TAP, I suspect that he is referring to a production or performance issue that is impeding his solar earnings. In either case, it is important to always consult with Tigo Support to obtain assistance from one of our highly trained Engineers.

    In most cases, the cause for the issue is found to be something that is inherent in the system's design and can be fixed very easily.
