    Over time, the requirement for a Logger has varied, but we always recommended (strongly) to spend the money for the CCA Kit. Consider their cost relative to the overall cost of building a system, it is a very small percent.

    As of today, our warranty terms DO REQUIRE a CCA and necessary TAPS. This is based on experiences for sites that were nearly impossible to support without the Power Reports that are collected and sent to our server when you do not Internet service (Off Grid applications).

    Also having this equipment enables Tigo Energy to update the software used, but critical functionality is to enable remote support.

    However, Optimization will work correctly without a CCA, but not Rapid Shutdown as that feature requires the radio service provided by the CCA TAP combination.

    Marek Kišfaluši Harry hit the high points of operation, but it is also worth noting that using our TS4-A-O without the CCA and TAP will have a significant impact on the optimizer warranty. The system must be connected to the Internet for the lifetime of the units. This means the TS4-A-O must use the CCA/TAP. If you decide not to use the communication equipment, then the warranty for the TS4s will be reduced from 25 years to 5 years.

    Do the TS4-A-S modules connected to CCA in an "off grid" install also have the same warranty restrictions?

    Off-grid installations do not have any restrictions on warranty, as long as the system is designed within the specs for the product you're purchasing.
