Tigo’s TAP Design Tool
Map out your wireless communication design with the TAP Design Tool. This tool will help you plan your installation using the TAP with TS4-S and TS4-O to activate monitoring and safety features.
Getting Started
- To begin, enter the site address (or upload a saved design file)
- Select the workspace on the map
- Use + - buttons or mouse wheel to zoom in far enough to see the entire site. Click and drag to position the map so that the entire site is visible.
- Click Use This Workspace when the site is centered.
- (or click Upload Tigo Design to open a previously saved design)
With Workspace Selected
- Click Add modules to begin placing arrays.
- Create an array of modules by clicking the four corners of the boundary.
- Module areas are automatically filled in with as many PV modules as will fit.
- Tip: click the settings (gear) button in the upper right to change PV module dimensions for a better estimate of the total number.

- Click Done when finished adding module areas (e.g. multiple sub-arrays.)
- Tip: module areas cannot overlap. Add holdouts/setbacks/walkways afterwards with the Remove modules button.
- Click Undo to make corrections.
- Click Remove modules to create holdouts/setbacks/walkways. Click four corners to define the boundaries of a holdout. Modules will be removed from areas where the boundaries overlap the array.
- Click Done when finished removing modules.
- Click Undo to make corrections when removing modules.
After entering all module areas
- Click Place TAP to estimate the total number of PV modules and automatically suggest the number of TAPs and their recommended placement.

Save your work!
- To save a design you’ve created, download the design file from the Report (after placing TAPs)
- The saved design file (.json format) can be imported into the TAP Design Tool for additional editing and can be shared with others for collaboration/review.
- Download the report as an image or PDF to have your own copy of the map.
