If you want to achieve module-level rapid shutdown and have chosen to use the TS4-F for your PV system, one of your first steps is to ensure the system will be installed with an RSS transmitter. This is required for the system to function properly. The RSS transmitter sends a "keep alive" signal to the TS4-F/TS4-A-F units, and when it is turned off, this "keep alive" signal disappears, and the system goes into rapid shutdown mode.
RSS transmitters can be bought and installed as an external standalone product through Tigo, or alternatively, some inverter manufacturers integrate compatible RSS transmitters into their inverters for reduced installation time.
