Identifying Your Networking Equipment
Routers and Modems
In most locations, internet access is done with a router or modem which will look something like this:

or this:

Locating this equipment will make it easier for Tigo Support to help you if you're having problems.
Power Line Adapters
Power Line Adapters (PLAs) are often used when Wifi signals are weak or cannot penetrate walls or ceilings. They really just extend an existing ethernet network.

Data Logger Connection
Your data logger (see above) will be connected to your network via one or more of the following methods:
- Wired (ethernet)
- Wireless (Wi-Fi)
- Power line adapters
Only the Cloud Connect (CC) and Cloud Connect Advanced (CCA) can connect wirelessly via Wi-Fi. All can use a wired connection.
Here is an example of a CCA using a wired (Ethernet) connection:
Here is a diagram of a wired (Ethernet) network connected to Tigo equipment:
Here is an example of a CCA using a wireless (Wi-Fi) connection:
Here is a diagram of a wireless (Wi-Fi) network setup:
If both the ethernet cable and wifi antenna are present, the ethernet wire will be used if it is connected. If it is connected, you will see lights (LEDs) blinking near the connector. Otherwise the Wi-Fi is likely being used.
Power Line Adapters
Power Line Adapters extend your network using your building electrical wiring and outlets.
Tigo Support will be able to help you much more quickly if you take a few moments and gather information about your network. If you are not getting all of the data you expect, chances are good that there is a problem with your network.
