Installers can manually update firmware with a USB flash drive using a .zip file provided by their Tigo support team. If your firmware is significantly out-of-date, you may need to update it to an intermediate version and then update it again to the latest version.
To update firmware, you will:
Determine if You Must Update to an Intermediate Version
- On the inverter LED screen, select About > Internal Code and press the Enter arrow.
- Check the last two digits of the code:
• Single phase – if <29, you must update to the intermediate version.
• Three phase – if <27, you must update to the intermediate version.
To obtain an intermediate firmware update file, contact your Tigo distributor for a link to a .zip file or a USB flash drive. Use the following procedures to update the inverter firmware once for the intermediary version (if needed) and then again for the latest version.
Prepare a USB Flash Drive (requires USB v. 3.0)
- Extract All ... from the .zip file.
