DS Energy Solutions was brought on by the Apple Valley Unified School District to install and maintain 5 solar sites on 5 schools throughout the area.  For these systems, safety and visibility were of the utmost importance.  DS Energy chose to outfit these systems with Tigo optimizers in order to gain visibility into the systems and comply with rapid shutdown and safety concerns.

Results and Customer Experience

The ability to see module level data has reduced DS Energy's Operation and Maintenance costs significanty since the systems' installations in 2013. Lee Anne Emery, DS Energy's O&M manager, commented on the benefits of module level monitoring, "Finding issues in standard PV systems can be time consuming and costly.  With Tigo monitoring we are able to maintain each of our systems running at 90-97% of projected production at all times."

Apple Valley Unified School District Superintendent, Matthew Schulenberg, says that the school system is very pleased with the performance of their solar systems and is excited to share their success with others.
