If the system is an early adopter of Tigo products, it may have an older Data Logger, as shown here:
Maximizer Management Unit (MMU) | Cloud Connect (CC): |
These legacy units are still employed on thousands of systems and continue to offer robust functionality (even though they are beyond warranty eligibility).
At times, these older units can run into the same issues that the modern CCA does (network, gateway connection, etc). Most of these can be resolved by following some simple troubleshooting techniques. These must be applied onsite, as they require access to the buttons on the face of the device.
Manual Restart
If the Data Logger is not responding or sending data to the site, it may require a manual restart to refresh the processor and clear out any unwanted cache or error reports.
- Press Menu Button (press Enter button)
- Press Down Arrow to: 2.Control (press Enter)
- Press Down Arrow to: 2.4 ReStart (press Enter)
- LCD displays "Are you sure?"(press Enter for "Yes")
Note: Simply unplugging the device does not refresh the processor cache. Please perform the above keypad functions. Then allow up to 2 minutes for the reboot cycle before pressing Menu again.
Gateway Test
If the data logger appears to be working, but data is not sending to the online Energy Intelligence (EI) portal, then it may be due to a break in communication from the Gateway on the roof. Follow these directions to initiate a Gateway Test:
- Press Menu Button (press Enter button)
- Press Down Arrow to: 2.Control (press Enter)
- Press Down Arrow to: 2.5Gateway Test (press Enter)
- LCD displays "Are you sure?"(press Enter for "Yes")
If the Gateway test fails, you will want to check the wiring between the Data Logger and the Gateway (on the rooftop).
Network Test
If you suspect that the Data Logger has become disconnected from the Network (or the ISP has changed), try running a Network Test to see if the Data Logger has connection with the Tigo Cloud.
- Press Menu Button (press Enter button)
- Press Down Arrow to: 3.Network (press Enter)
- Press Down Arrow to: 3.2Network Test (press Enter)
- LCD displays "Are you sure?"(press Enter for "Yes")
If the Network Test fails, refer to Network 101 - Internet Access and Network Reliability.
Lastly, if you would like to see a full list of your menu options, refer to Cloud Connect/MMU Menu Reference.
